Governor Lori Bennett and Partner in Service Lion Steve Bennett.
As a mother, food-service or child care provider, scout or youth group leader, I have always served others. I joined the Paris Lions Club in 2006, and have served most offices and chaired most committees. At the district level, I initiated and chaired the Walk for Sight and the district Facebook page, served as Zone Chair and on district committees including Convention & Leadership Forum.
I have presented programs on service opportunities, vision impairment, membership diversity, communications, district leadership opportunities and other subjects at the club, district and state levels.
Since joining, I have attended many district and state conventions, district and state forums, have trained at the club, zone, district, state, area and international including LCICon in Toronto and the Centennial Celebration in Chicago. Nothing compares with the experience of being surrounded by thousands of Lions from around the world.
Of the awards I have received, I am most honored by the Melvin Jones Fellow, the Excellence Awards as Zone Chair, Club President and member of the DG Team, and the Lions of Illinois Foundation Fellow.
I feel so blessed to be a part of the team that is serving our district as we enter the new century of service. Using ‘The Power of We,’ we can be even stronger, serve more and secure the future of ‘The More, The Merrier, The Mighty 1M!’
